【Project Background and Purpose】

Rmmbr (Remember) is a collaboration platform that goes beyond simply recording special everyday moments. It allows you to share and nurture memories online together with family, friends, and loved ones.

Rather than remaining just a photo storage service, it delivers Memories (recording), Sharing (real-time sharing), Countdowns (for important events), and Chat (within groups) in one place. The goal was to create a communication hub that covers everything from reflecting on the past to sharing future plans.

Rmmbr’s brand foundation is built on three core elements: Clear, Personal, and Warm.

【Role and Outcomes within the Team: Logical Color Design】

This project was carried out by a large team of 9 members—6 designers and 3 developers. Within the team, I was responsible for defining the color palette and accessibility guidelines that balance the product’s clarity/visibility (Clear) with emotional warmth (Warm).

By presenting not only the sensory quality of the design but also solid logical grounds—such as “compliance with color contrast ratios” and “ease of integration into the design system during development”—I received high evaluation from the entire team, including the developers. As a result, my proposals were adopted as-is as the implementation standard.

Main Features

1. Memories & Sharing

Easily upload photos and media at any time. Share albums with loved ones in real time and look back on memories together.

2. Countdowns

Features countdown timers for events such as trips, birthdays, and anniversaries. By sharing not only past memories but also the anticipation of future moments, it sparks conversation.

3. Chat with Collaborators

Integrated chat functionality directly linked to shared albums and countdowns. You can seamlessly discuss next plans or share impressions within the app—no need to open a separate messaging app.

Competitors

We analyzed existing photo storage services (such as Google Photos) and sharing apps (such as Timehop) to define Rmmbr’s unique value.

Rmmbr’s greatest competitive advantage is the seamless fusion of “past memories,” “future countdowns,” and the “chat” that lets people talk about both—into a single unified experience that other products lack.

Reflection & Learnings

Logic-Based Design Proposals and Building Consensus

In a diverse 9-person team spanning multiple roles, I experienced the importance of explaining designs logically in terms of “user readability” and “implementation consistency,” rather than relying on subjective aesthetics. Defining the color system while involving the developers gave me a solid sense of accomplishment that translates directly to professional practice.

Learning and Growth in a High-Level Team Environment

Collaborating with experienced designers provided great stimulation through the breadth of idea generation and the speed of the screen design process. While contributing to the team with my strengths in color design and verbalization, I also absorbed the thinking processes of other members—experiencing the unique synergy that comes from team-based creation.
